Monday Smile: Sa Lodge Opens A 'pangolorium'

Lepogo Lodges in Lapalala Wilderness Reserve, has opened a pangolorium, a sanctuary for the endangered pangolin.

In collaboration with the African Pangolin Working Group, the lodge will offer a safe rehabilitation and release space for pangolins rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. The sanctuary will also be equipped with a comprehensive veterinary unit with state-of-the-art medical technology, including a sonar machine to address the unique health challenges faced by rescued pangolins.

Once this is established and depending on the individual pangolins rehabilitation progress, guests may have the opportunity to view them, Lepogo Lodges says on its website.
