Mohammed Kudus Reveals Meaning Behind Unique Celebration
Mohammed Kudus Explains Unique Goal Celebration After Scoring for West Ham
Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus has shared the meaning behind his distinctive goal celebration following his strike in West Ham United's 1-1 draw with Brighton amp Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kudus scored in the 58th minute to equalize for the Hammers after Mats Wieffers goal had given Brighton the lead just seven minutes earlier at the London Stadium.
Following his goal, the Black Stars forward celebrated by sitting on a wooden stool carved in the shape of an elephant, a tribute to his Ghanaian heritage.
"Where I come from, the chiefs and the kings, they sit on stools," Kudus explained. "I thought it would be nice to share a little bit of life where I am from."
The goal marked Kudus' third of the season, adding to the 14 he scored for West Ham across all competitions last season.
