Mk Party Protests Against Zelenskyys Visit To Sa
Dozens of uMkhontho we Sizwe MK Party supporters are staging a protest against the visiting Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
The Ukrainian President is in the country and will meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa shortly to discuss ways of expanding bilateral co-operation in the areas of trade, agriculture and education.
This is Zelenskyys first visit to the country and follows President Ramaphosas visit to Ukraine in 2023 as part of the African Peace Initiative at the height of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Speaking to the media on their protest, MK Party Spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela says South Africa remains committed to countries in the BRICS bloc, including Russia.
We are saying as members of MK, we are members of BRICS and Russia is an ally of BRICS. Ukraine is not associated with us in any way so why are we having discussions with this individual, why here? So, Ramaphosa must not bring us problems that we dont have and he himself is a liability, he is a problem because even the same GNU that he brought using the black vote and giving racists that went to Ukraine from the DA went and lobby the same government on its fact finding mission, only to find that there is racism against our Africans when that war started.
