Mk Party Launches Another Bid To Invalidate 2024 Polls
The uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party has launched another bid to invalidate the 2024 National and Provincial Elections, just eight months after it withdrew its earlier application in the Electoral Court.
The MK Party contends in papers that at the time, it was necessary to withdraw in the interests of justice as the matter was not ready for hearing.
However, this time, it charges that there is incontrovertible evidence that the May 29 elections were neither free nor fair.
The party cites, among other things, serious voter irregularities, which they describe as 'alarming' to support its claim.
It further puts forth what it terms as a credible and accurate expert report in papers, which makes findings that cast doubts on the integrity of the highly contested polls insofar as the Digital Votes Capturing and Reporting System and the two-hour system down time on May 31, 2024.
