Mk Party Distances Itself From Vat Debate, Stands With Majority View

The MK Party says it has deliberately decided not to involve itself in the ongoing debate over the reversal of the Value Added Tax VAT increase.
MK Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu addressed members during a mini rally held in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, yesterday.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana recently submitted documents confirming that VAT remains at 15 percent.
Shivambu emphasized that the party supports the majority view of South Africans on the matter.
"We are not going to be involved in whether VAT must increase or not because we know that the majority of South Africans say it must not increase. We know that we represent the majority. We are a party and a movement of the majority," said Shivambu.
