Mk Party Charges Duduzile Zuma-sambudla In Crackdown On Ill Discipline

uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party has launched disciplinary charges against its member of Parliament Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla.

The charges stem from her profanity-laden posts on X about the partys Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu earlier this month.

Duduzile faces MK Party disciplinary process

In the instance of Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, I would like to clearly indicate that internal disciplinary processes are in progress, MK Partys Deputy Secretary-General Nombuso Mkhize said at a media briefing on Monday 24 February.

Zuma-Sambudla, who is also the daughter of the partys leader Jacob Zuma, has apologised twice for her posts. Zuma had earlier threatened her with expulsion if she did not apologise.

Mkhize said although Zuma-Sambudla is Zumas daughter, she is being treated as an MK Party member. She joined MK Party and signed the declaration, she explained.

The national officials deliberated intensively on the matter, which went viral on social media. The presidents wisdom and guidance was that every member should abide by the constitution and code of conduct of MK Party.

Earlier in the briefing, Shivambu also announced the expulsion of two members. One served in the National Council of Provinces and the other in Mpumalangas provincial legislature.

However, the party declined to name the two members, citing appeal processes that may be underway.

Shivambu read the riot act to members in what appears to be a crackdown on ill-discipline in the party. Any attempt to cast aspersions and doubt on the Constitution of the MK Party poses a real existential threat to the organisation, he said.

Whilst internal disagreements and different thoughts should be expressed internally, there is no space for any public disagreements, disharmony and disrespect. Public disagreements, disharmony and disrespect or perceptions that there is such, will weaken the faith and confidence which our people have shown in the organisation.
