The uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party has called off a planned picket outside the venue where the Judicial Service Commission JSC will hold its interviews to fill vacancies in various courts in the country.
The JSC will today begin with interviews to fill three vacancies in the Supreme Court of Appeal SCA.
The Commission received the green light to proceed after the High Court in Johannesburg dismissed an application by the MK Party that aimed to have the sitting postponed.
The party now says that it will instead explore other legal avenues.
The judgment of the High Court cleared the way for the two-week-long session to begin without MK Party Parliamentary leader, Dr. John Hlophe as per the order of the Western Cape High Court.
