Miss Sa's 'crown Chasers' Gets A Nod From The Saftas With A Nomination

The Miss South Africa reality show, Crown Chasers has been nominated for a South African Film Television Award SAFTA.

The show was nominated in the category, Best Competition Reality Show, despite the Chidimma Adetshina controversy it sparked online weeks before the finale.

Adetshina sparked an online controversy with many Mzansi netizens questioning her name and saying she was not a South African, asking for her exclusion from the pageant. She eventually withdraw a day before the big final after questions arose about how her mother was accused of identity fraud.

Crown Chasers is a five part reality TV series which gave viewers the opportunity to get the behind-the-scenes with the Miss South Africa hopefuls. The show gives viewers a first hand account of what it takes to win the Miss SA crown.

The show follows the journey of the Top 16 finalists in the first episode, and as the weeks go by and the finale approaches, some of the contestants get eliminated one by one, until the final about five weeks later. In each week, on the bases of their performances for the week.
