The National Chairman of Accord Party, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem says the minor distraction the party had recently in its leadership is now over.
He spoke while addressing journalists during the partys National Working Committee, NWC, meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
It was the partys first major NWC meeting after the national convention on 28th July, 2024, where it elected new officers
You are probably aware of the unnecessary minor distraction we had recently in the leadership of our great party, when our presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Prof Christopher Imumolen arrogated to himself the position of National Chairman of the Party, assigned other offices to his co-travelers and misled an FCT High Court to grant an ex parte order in his favour which naturally expired after seven days, he stated.
Mgbudem described the situation as an abortive coup driven by the inordinate ambition of the former presidential candidate against the authentic leadership of the party.
