Minister of Energy and Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa , received the second of three consignments of energy equipment donated by the Peoples Republic of China in a handover ceremony on August 27 at the Eskom storage facility in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.
This donation is part of the Technical Assistance Programme initiated during the visit of the Chinese Head of State to South Africa in August 2023. The equipment is intended to boost energy efficiency and ensure a reliable power supply to various public buildings and facilities, supporting uninterrupted service delivery to the community.
The consignment includes diesel generators and photovoltaic energy storage systems. The donated equipment will significantly improve energy efficiency and ensure a consistent power supply to clinics and public facilities, thereby maintaining uninterrupted service to communities, said Ramokgopa.
