A northwest Miami-Dade woman was arrested Tuesday after police said she assaulted her 15-year-old stepson with a knife during an argument that allegedly stemmed over house keys.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Police Department, the incident occurred at the family's home, located near the 4500 block of Northwest 23rd Avenue, where a verbal argument between the pair escalated into a fight around 3 p.m.
The victim told police that the dispute began when he refused to give his stepmother, who police identified as 36-year-old Kattie Denise Williams, the keys to their home.
Police said as tensions rose, Williams reached into her stepson's pockets in an attempt to forcibly retrieve the keys.
After the victim continued to resist giving her the keys, Williams allegedly struck him multiple times on the back of his head, back and chest, police said.
