Metro Police Trainee Arrested For Possessing Illegal Ammunition

A metro police trainee was arrested Saturday and appeared in Bellville Magistrates Court yesterday after being found with illegal ammunition at a home linked to an alleged drug dealer.

The trainee and another suspect - aged 31 and 27 - were arrested in Delft after members of the areas Crime Prevention Unit acted on supplied information where they searched the suspects vehicle in Tamarisk Street, says IOL .

The search was not for null and between the two men, they were found in possession of 45 rounds of .38 special ammunition.

This incident is not unique and raises many concerns about those placed in positions of authority and their credibility.

Incidents such as these lead to wavering trust from the public at large.
