Men Encouraged At Bloemfontein Summit To Lead The Fight Against Gbv

Men and boys have been urged to take a leading role in tackling gender-based violence GBV in society.

Hundreds of men and boys gathered at the Bloemfontein City Hall for a one-day summit, part of the 16 Days of No Violence Against Women and Children campaign.

Earlier this year, Bloemfontein saw a disturbing number of femicides, with many of the women being killed by their partners.

Men are encouraged to engage with young boys and foster open conversations to help raise a better generation of men. Various mens organizations attended the summit to promote a shift in how men should conduct themselves in society and take responsibility in the fight against GBV.
