Meet 44-yr-old Mojisola Meranda, 1st Lagos Assembly Female Speaker

Mojisola Meranda emerged as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on January 12, 2025 following the impeachment of Mudashir Obasa over multiple fraudulent allegations.

With this development, Meranda becomes the first female speaker of the Lagos State Assembly.

However, there have been recent controversies ever since her emergence with the latest at the time of this report being men of the Department of State Security, DSS, and Nigeria Police, storming the Lagos State House of Assembly, sealing up the offices of the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, her deputy and clerk of the house.
