African National Congress ANC Limpopo spokesperson Jimmy Machaka says late former National Executive Committee NEC member Tito Mboweni was concerned about a number of party members who have been implicated in corruption.
NEC members facing corruption charges include Zizi Kodwa, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and Pule Mabe.
The ANC in Limpopo held a memorial service for Mboweni in a community hal l in Nkowankowa village in Tzaneen last night.
Machaka says Mboweni would have liked to see the renewal of the ANC.
He says, "He was worried that many of the ANC leaders are found in the media for the wrong reasons, being accused of being unethical, being accused of corruption and many other issues that are negatively affecting the society."
