Mboweni Was An Excellent Finance Minister Shilowa

Former Gauteng Premier, Mbhazima Shilowa says Tito Mboweni was an excellent finance minister.

Mboweni died on Saturday at a Johannesburg hospital at the age of 65.

Shilowa says when Mboweni assumed the position of finance minister, he raised issues that he believed would assist to grow the economy such as a state bank.

He says while some may disagree with his policy decisions, he leaves a great legacy.

Shilowa says, "He had also been raising the issue of state bank I thinks it's something that he believed in and I hope that people continue to look at things like that. It was a life well lived, short lived, what is important is that you leave a legacy behind. Ive got no doubt that while some disagree he left a great legacy in our country."
