African National Congress ANC National Executive Committee NEC member David Mahlobo has described the late former Finance Minister Tito Mboweni as a person who understood the importance of unity in the party.
Mahlobo was speaking at a memorial service that the ANC organised at the Nkowankowa community hall outside Tzaneen in Limpopo yesterday.
He says, "Comrade Tito was one leader who never divided the ANC, he was a true congress man. Comrade Tito understood that you dont join the revolution for yourself and you cant be the first one to benefit like the current leaders, who are the first, every time it's about them and comrade Tito understood that you cant lead a divided nation."
Mbowenis Special Official Funeral Category 2 will take place at the Nkowankowa Stadium tomorrow morning.
He died last Saturday after a short illness at the age of 65.
