Former African National Congress (ANC) President Thabo Mbeki says the party should make necessary contributions to rectify the outcomes of the general elections.
Mbeki adds that the planned national dialogue by President Cyril Ramaphosa will assist in rebuilding and unity. He was speaking on a two-day Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) Renewal Convocation in Welkom, Free State.
The ANC is still working on rebuilding following the outcomes of the general elections. Former President Mbeki returned to the province to check the PECs position on taking the movement forward.
In his speech, Mbeki stressed that the ANC should take seriously the statement by the population and that National leadership should take a firm stand on renewal.
He also says the challenges faced by the ANC in the Free State, stem from a lack of renewal. We need to go back to the drawing board and heed the call by the population by doing what is right.
