Mbalula Calls For Walus To Give Full Confession On Hanis Death

Fikile Mbalula, the African National Congress ANC Secretary-General, has criticized the release of Janusz Walus, the killer of Chris Hani, without a full confession of his actions. Earlier, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni announced that Walus will be deported to Poland.

Walus was sentenced to death for the 1993 assassination of Chris Hani and was placed on parole in 2022 for a two-year period.

Speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg, Mbalula called for Walus to fully disclose the truth about the forces behind the murder. He urged for a comprehensive inquiry into Hani's assassination to expose the full scope of the crime and provide closure to Hani's family, the ANC, and the people of South Africa.

Mbalula emphasized that South Africa is not a place for assassins and murderers, and Walus must be deported.
