The second annual Wear Your Shades Day campaign will take place on Friday, 18 October.
The campaign offers participants a chance to increase awareness of visual impairment, promote the importance of eye health and joyously wear matching shades with your dog and have no one look twice.
The campaign signifies a movement, encouraging South Africans to stand in solidarity with visually impaired individuals.
Participation, alongside the purchase of a R20 sticker, aids in the funding of essential services and contributes to societal inclusion in terms of freedom and independence for the visually impaired.
When commenting on the campaign, Pieter Van Niekerk, spokesperson for the SA Guide-Dogs Association, said that every year, our mission is to transform the lives of approximately 800 individuals by providing them with assistance dogs and long cane training.
