Deputy President Paul Mashatile will this morning host a meeting for Government of National Unity GNU partners at Tuynhuis in Cape Town where among others the Basic Education Laws Amendment BELA Act will be discussed.
The meeting, titled the Clearing House Mechanism, is a platform for the 10 signatories of the GNU to iron out policy disagreements and any disputes.
The BELA Act, a contentious Act that was signed into law last month, is legislation that the DA has been firmly against.
Other issues that will be discussed include the terms of reference for the Clearing House Mechanism, an update on the preparations for the National Dialogue, as well as a discussion on challenges at provincial and local government levels in relation to coalition governments.
