Mashatile Says He Is Safe Amid Motorcade Shooting Investigation

Deputy President Paul Mashatile says he is not worried about his safety because he is properly protected as police launched an investigation into an alleged shooting incident directed at his motorcade.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred while he was driving home weeks ago from an African National Congress ANC NEC meeting in Boksburg in Gauteng.

Mashatile was speaking to the media after attending KwaSizabantu church service in KwaZulu-Natal.

What really happened is that as I was driving from the NEC, my car was hit by what initially I thought was stones and when we got home, protector said the impact is too much, they want to take it for checking because you know a bullet proof wind screen is too strong to be damaged and thats why they are doing the investigation, says Mashatile.
