Mashatile Hopeful Talks To Avoid Vat Increase Will Yield Good Results

Deputy President Paul Mashatile is confident that the team deployed to discuss ways to avoid the VAT increase will bring positive feedback.

Mashatile joined the Assemblies of God Congregation in Thaba Nchu, Free State, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary, for the Good Friday service.

He was accompanied by officials from the national and provincial governments, as well as the Moroka Royal family and African National Congress provincial officials.

Mashatile has appealed to the church to pray for those in authority who are tasked with the responsibility of leading the country.

This comes amid discussions on ways to avoid the VAT increase, which is set to be implemented on 1 May if parties fail to come up with other fiscal measures.
