Marmoush Late Winner Sends Manchester City Into Fa Cup Semis

Omar Marmoush came off the bench to score the decisive goal in Manchester City's comeback win over Bournemouth.

The Egyptian forward replaced the injured Erling Haaland early in the second half and wasted no time making his mark, finding the net just two minutes after his introduction. His goal proved to be the match-winner, sealing City's spot in the final four, where they will face Nottingham Forest on the weekend of April 26.

City fell behind in the first half. Bournemouth's high press paid off when they capitalised on a defensive mistake and Evanilson bundled home the opener from close range in the 23rd minute. Just minutes earlier, Haaland had missed a penalty and chipped another opportunity over the bar, capping a frustrating first 45 minutes for the Norwegian.

At the break, Pep Guardiola brought on 20-year-old midfielder Nico O'Reilly to fill in at left back. The youngster made a quick impact and turned provider just four minutes into the second half, squaring the ball for Haaland to smash home the equaliser at the far post.

However, the strikers afternoon was cut short by an ankle injury shortly after his goal, leading to Marmoush's introduction. The former Frankfurt man responded instantly, striking the winner and delivering yet another crucial moment in his breakout season at the Etihad.

With Omar Marmoush stepping up once again, the Egyptians tally looks ever more impressive, standing at 38 goals and assists in 37 matches so far this season.
