Acting President Gwede Mantashe has used his Freedom Day address to call for unity among different races in the country.

Mantashe delivered the keynote address at the National Freedom Day commemorations in Ermelo , Mpumalanga yesterday.

This after he was announced as Acting President, due to President Ramaphosas ill health.

Mantashe urged the people of South Africa to reject racial divisions as the country celebrates 31 years of democracy.

He says, "Well not allow anyone to define us, nobody must define us and tell us who and what we are or turn us against one another. No one will do that, we are a people, we must make choices that unite us. We must roundly reject all attempts to divide us on racial lines."
