Manhunt Launched After Police Officer Killed In Klerksdorp

Police in the North West have launched a manhunt for suspects who fatally shot one of their own at Randlespark in Klerksdorp on Tuesday.

Police management in the province has condemned the incident where Sergeant Fundiswa Motlhaoleng was killed.

Provincial police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone says the case is being investigated by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation.

According to information, the member who is stationed at Jouberton Visible Policing was shot by unknown suspects while in her private vehicle and on her way to work and fully in uniform. The incident took place on Taljaart Kruger Street, Randlespark where three empty cartridges and ammunition were found.

Mokgwabone says Motlhaolengs body was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his right jaw and hand.
