Nelson Mandela University's Professor Uchenna Okeja has been elected to the membership of the American Antiquarian Society AAS.
Recognized for his significant contributions to academics, the election of the professor from the Faculty of Humanities sees him join a select group of nearly 1 200 members globally.
This society includes notable figures such as 14 US presidents and over 75 Pulitzer Prize winners, all celebrated for their remarkable achievements in academia or public service.
Prof. Okejas research focuses on political philosophy, utilizing historical political contexts to develop philosophical concepts aimed at guiding humanity today and in the future.
Currently a visiting professor at Yale University, Okeja views his election as an opportunity to further advocate for the importance of the humanities.
