A judge read a police report and told a 29-year-old suspect during a Miami-Dade County court hearing on Monday that he was accused of stabbing a 17-year-old victim 18 times with a butcher knife.

According to Miami-Dade detectives, Alexander Love also attempted to throw the teen over a railing on a fourth floor shortly after 11:30 p.m., on Saturday at Miami International's Terminal J.

During the bond court hearing, the suspect, Love stood before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer wearing a green suicide prevention vest and handcuffs. He had scratches on his face.

According to police, the bloody crime scene prompted a false rumor that there was an active shooter. Witnesses said they heard someone shout - "RUN!" - and panic followed. Police officers arrested Love and found the knife. They also evacuated the area.

Fire rescue personnel took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Love is facing charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and premeditated attempted murder.
