Authorities are investigating after they said a man was killed early Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles in Miami.
Police officers responded to the crash just after 3:30 a.m. at Southwest 43rd Avenue and Eighth Street, near Lejeune Road in the city's Little Gables area, according to Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Miami Fire Rescue confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman driving a second vehicle was transported to Coral Gables Hospital in stable condition.
Rodriguez also confirmed that the driver of the third vehicle fled the scene on foot.
He also said the Miami-Dade Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit responded and determined that the initial point of the crash occurred within the city of Miami's jurisdiction. The City of Miami Police Department has now taken over the investigation.
