Man Arrested In Zanzou Nightclub Assault Case To Appear In Court

A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with an assault incident at the Zanzou nightclub in Hatfield, Pretoria, is expected to appear in the local Magistrates Court today.

The arrest follows the circulation of a graphic video showing young men being sexually violated at the nightclub.

Johannesburg Metro Police officers were patrolling in Yeoville, Johannesburg when they identified a man resembling one of the bouncers seen in the viral video. Upon verification, he was taken into custody.

The South African Human Rights Commission has condemned the acts depicted in the video, stating that they infringe on the victims rights to dignity and bodily integrity.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that they are working to apprehend seven other suspects linked to the incident.
