Man Arrested For Killing Baby Escapes From Limpopo Hospital
A 29-year-old man arrested for allegedly killing a 14-month-old baby has escaped from Tshilidzini hospital, outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo.
He was admitted to the hospital after he attempted to commit suicide inside the holding cell at the Thohoyandou police station on Monday.
The suspect allegedly strangled the baby to death and kidnapped the babys mother two weeks ago.
Police say the suspect escaped yesterday before being taken to court. He was due to appear in the Thohoyandou magistrates court. His case was postponed to Tuesday next week.
Police spokesperson Vuledzani Dathi says it is not yet clear how the suspect managed to escape as they are still busy investigating.
