A 47-year-old man was arrested Sunday after he admitted to shooting his ex-wife at her home in Kendall, authorities said.

Jail records show Pedro Nunez, of Miami, is facing one count of attempted felony murder.

According to an arrest report, Nunez and the victim have a 10-year-old son in common.

Miami-Dade police said a tenant who lives in an efficiency at the victim's residence in the 6200 block of Southwest 109th Avenue called 911 shortly after 330 a.m. Sunday after noticing that the front door of the main home was open and then discovering a large amount of blood on the floor when he opened the door to the efficiency.

According to the arrest report, officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in her bedroom, located in the main part of the house.
