Magesi FC have made history after reaching their first cup final in their debut season in South Africas topflight football.
The Betway Premiership rookies beat Richards Bay FC 1-nil in the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout at the King Zwelithini Stadium, to advance to their maiden cup final.
The only goal of the match was scored by Tshepo Mashigo in the first half. The home side were reduced to 10 players when Tlakusani Mthethwa got his marching orders after collecting his second yellow card late in the match.
Magesi will face the winner between Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns in the final to be staged in Bloemfontein on the 23rd of this month.
Magesi coach Clinton Larsen will be looking to win this trophy for the second time, after winning it with Bloemfontein Celtic back in 2012.
