Lions Secure First Home Urc Victory Over Stormers

The Lions' superiority on the attack laid the platform for their first win at Ellis Park over the Stormers on Saturday afternoon in the United Rugby Championship URC.

A 30-23 victory ended a run of six losses against the Cape outfit in Johannesburg, but their inability to score four tries kept them from leapfrogging the inaugural URC champions on the points log.

While the Stormers were comprehensively outplayed on a wet Ellis Park, for a second weekend in a row they showed tremendous fight after trailing 24-6 at a stage to score for a battling losing bonus point.

Looking at that scoreline at halftime, the home side should've won by more and they collected a bonus point for four tries.

They ripped the Stormers apart and their three scores in the first half were typical Lions tries and that took the game away from their visitors.
