Limpopo Teacher Facing Rape Charges To Apply For Bail

A 58-year-old teacher who allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl at a primary school in Makotopong outside Polokwane in Limpopo is today expected to apply for bail in the Mankweng Magistrates Court.

The teacher allegedly repeatedly raped the Grade 7 learner from July last year.

Internal investigations by the Department of Education into the teachers conduct have ceased after he resigned.

The teacher was arrested after the school principal laid a rape charge against him last month, after catching him with the Grade 7 learner at the school office.

Residents have since alleged that he may also have raped three other minors over the years.
