A man accused of shooting and killing his partner has committed suicide on the N1 freeway outside Mokopane in Limpopo.
Police say the motorist pointed the gun on himself after being stopped.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the motorist was being sought in connection with the killing of his partner in Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal after attending an event.
The couple is from Lenyenye outside Tzaneen.
Ledwaba says theyve opened inquest dockets, Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple who originates from Lenyenye outside Tzaneen in Mopani were coming from an event in KwaZulu-Natal province. The motive behind the incident will be established by police investigations, but domestic violence related issues cannot be ruled out.
