The South African Weather Service has issued a level five weather warning for parts of the Eastern Cape.

This includes heavy disruptive rains which may lead to localised flooding and a possible danger to life.

Affected areas include the Buffalo City Metro, Amathole and the OR Tambo District.

Weather forecaster, Ayabonga Tshungwana, has called on communities to be on high alert during this period.

Those systems will result in a cloudy conditions with a good chance of showers and rains and also some possible thunderstorms in the Northern parts of the Eastern Cape and places along the East Coast. We expect more precipitation to fall, we have issued warnings and also we have orange level five that will result in localised flooding.
