Guinea succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to hosts France in their second match at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the Mens Football Tournament on Saturday night. The defeat at the Allianz Riviera left the Young Elephants at the bottom of the Group A standings and they will be hoping to end their group stage campaign with a victory over USA on 30 July. The Young Elephants were just unlucky in the first-half as Naby Keita found the back of the net in the 41st minute, but the former Liverpool FC stars goal was disallowed for offside. Abdoulaye Toure thought he had found the back of the net in first-half stoppage to hand Guinea the lead, but the goal was also disallowed for offside and the score was 0-0 during the half-time break. The deadlock was finally broken with 15 minutes left on the clock when Michael Olise set upKiliann Sildillia who netted to seal Frances hard-fought 1-0 victoryover an unlucky Guinea side.
