Latam Expands Codeshare With Airlink

latam expands codeshare with airlink

LATAM Airlines Brazil has expanded its codeshare agreement with South African carrier Airlink, adding four new African destinations to its network via Johannesburg. Brazilian travellers can now book single-ticket itineraries to Harare Zimbabwe, Maputo Mozambique, Windhoek Namibia and Dar es Salaam Tanzania.

This extension enables passengers departing from Brazil to travel to up to eight destinations in Africa with checked baggage included.

The additional routes are operated by Airlink using Embraer 190 and 195 aircraft with capacity for up to 107 passengers. Frequencies include 35 weekly flights to Harare and 25 to Windhoek, three daily flights to Maputo and daily connections to Dar es Salaam, including a double frequency on Thursdays.

LATAM currently operates four weekly flights between So Paulo and Johannesburg aboard Boeing 787-9 aircraft. It is the only Brazilian carrier serving the African continent directly since 2023.

In 2024 alone, we transported more than 80000 passengers between So Paulo and Johannesburg, representing 55 of the Brazil-Africa market, said Aline Mafra , Director of Sales and Marketing for LATAM Airlines Brazil. For 2025, we forecast over 100000 passengers on the route.
