Carsley, who was brought in on an interim basis, took charge of the 2-0 wins over the Republic and Finland.
England impressed in both matches, their first since Gareth Southgate ended his eight-year tenure.
But the Daily Telegraph reports that the FA are not ruling out bringing in someone else when Carsleys interim spell ends in November.
