Kzn Govt Congratulates Sa Kho-kho Team For Winning Bronze In India
Acting MEC for Sports, Arts and Culture in KwaZulu-Natal Mbali Shinga has congratulated the South African Kho-Kho team on its success.
The team won the bronze medal at the recently concluded Kho-Kho World Cup which was hosted by India.
These indigenous games that were played for the first time had 20 countries as participants.
Shinga was amongst the dignitaries who welcomed the team at the King Shaka International Airport.
"We are excited as the province, but then taking a few lessons, even feedback from and the coach, that really if the sport had to start at a school level, it will benefit the community but also they are saying we need to encourage our youth that they can make a living out of I sport. We are really happy with the support that the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture has given to the team as well as Ethekwini Municipality. As you can see, we are proud and hoping going forward the sport will grow," says Shinga.
