Kumbas Football Future Brightens With New Stadium On The Horizon

The city of Kumba is set to score a major win with the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium, a game-changer for the citys football aspirations. The Socit Anonyme des Boissons du Cameroun SABC has pledged 500 million FCFA to fund the project, which aims to elevate the local football scene to new heights .
The project was presented during a high-profile meeting on March 18, 2025, involving Kumba City Mayor Gregory Mewanu, SABC executives, and representatives from the Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development PPRD. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding MoU is imminent, marking the official kickoff for this ambitious venture.
This development is a dream come true for K-Town, a breeding ground for national football talents. Currently, six teamsKumba City FC, Legend FA, Bright Stars, Future Dream FA, Kumba Lakers FC, and Waspito FFare competing in the regional league.
Despite their consistent top-four finishes in the South West Regional National Interpools, inadequate facilities have been a stumbling block, with matches played on a subpar pitch at the Government Primary and Secondary School field GPS.
The new stadium promises to level the playing field, offering a world-class venue that could propel these teams into Cameroons elite leagues. With proper infrastructure, Kumbas football legacy could soon rival that of legendary clubs like PWD of Kumba, cementing its place on the national football map.
