President Cyril Ramaphosa says the statue of AmaZulu King Shaka at the Durban International Airport, is a symbol of unity, integrity and leadership for all South Africans.
The R4.5 million statue was unveiled by Ramaphosa and King Misuzulu kaZwelithini today.
Ramaphosa paid tribute to King Shaka as someone who not only lead but as one who also had respect for his adversaries and was open to advice from others.
Lets praise our heroes, we will name our streets and buildings after them. Yes, we will write books after them, we will also make TV shows about them and erect statutes in their honour just as we have done today as we have powerful representation statue of King Shaka, we do so because these heroes represent our past and reflect our aspirations for the future.
