Kimberley Man Accused Of Rape, Murder To Know His Fate

A 27-year-old man accused of the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl will hear his fate when he appears in the High Court in the Northern Cape on Tuesday.

The accused, Itumeleng Machabe, has been in custody since his arrest in 2022.

Its over two years since the girl disappeared from her home in Galeshewe, Kimberley. Her body was found behind the provincial legislature a day after she disappeared.

Forty witnesses have since testified during the lengthy court processes.

The case has gone through many postponements and the family has stated that all they want is justice for their child.
