Khayelitsha Pastors Rape And Attempted Murder Case Postponed
The case against a Khayelitsha pastor, accused of rape and attempted murder, has been postponed in the local Magistrates Court in Cape Town.
The man was arrested by the Khayelitsha Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit, following claims of assault and rape at a church where he ministered.
The alleged crimes took place between November 2022 and January of this year.
Founder of Malihambe Women Outreach NPO, Nosipho Daniels, says while the matter has been dragging, they are satisfied that it is finally gaining momentum.
The matter has taken far too long in terms of the bail application but we are happy now eventually we got to a day before the judgment. Now that the magistrate has indicated that a judgment will be handed now that the matter has been remanded to the 19th of March which is next week. So, at last, we have reached that stage after a 2-months long process.
