CAPE TOWN Western Province will face the defending champions, Lions, in the final of the Khaya Majola Cricket Week 2024 on Friday.

The Lions, after securing their first win of the tournament on Day 3, made it into the semi-finals. On Thursday, Pranav Raichetti played a brilliant knock of 106 off 112 balls, leading his team to an eight-wicket victory over the Dolphins in the semi-final. Raichetti shared a 143-run partnership with opening batsman Jason Rowles, who scored 75. Ross Coetzee 63 had a solid contribution for the Dolphins, while Rowles 2/36 and Cole Francis 3/26 excelled with the ball.

In the other semi-final, Western Province comfortably beat Boland by five wickets. Boland was bowled out for just 104, with Raeeq Daniels 5/25 taking a five-wicket haul. Christiaan Wege 32 was the only Boland batsman to offer resistance. WP chased down the target, with Kashief Joseph 45 and Adnaan Lagadien 24 providing key contributions.
