In the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, the state has clarified that singer Kelly Khumalo will not be called as a witness. This statement comes as Khumalo remains a person of interest in the case. Meyiwa was tragically shot and killed in 2014 while at Khumalo's parental home in Vosloorus, Gauteng.
During the trial, five men are standing trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain. Lead investigating officer Bongani Gininda was responding to questions from defence counsel Zithulele Nxumalo, who asked if Khumalo would testify in court.
The states response confirmed that Khumalo will not be testifying, but the investigation into her involvement continues.
