The 110 learners from Tamaho Primary School in Katlehong in Gauteng who were rushed to hospital due to yet another suspected food poisoning incident have now all been discharged .

This is according to the Gauteng Education Department.

The learners began experiencing stomach cramps and vomiting after consuming samp at school during break time on Wednesday.

Department spokesperson Steve Mabona says they have assured the parents that tests will be done on the food and results will be shared with them.

"We just want to appeal with the parents to say let's now leave school so that we can continue with the process of curriculum delivery because those that said they dont want their children to eat, we then give them an opportunity to give us the names so that we then respect their decision. But the school has about 1600 learners and we felt that we would be disadvantaging so many children if we say, children must not eat.
