Judgment In Omotoso Rape Case Set For April

The matter of rape accused Pastor Timothy Omotoso has been postponed until 2 April for judgment after closing arguments.

The Gqeberha High Court in the Eastern Cape heard closing arguments both from the state and the defence.

Omotoso appeared in the Gqeberha High Court with co-accused Zukiswa Sitho and Lusanda Sulani. They are facing over 30 charges that include rape, human trafficking and racketeering.

Judgment in Omotoso trial set for April

National Prosecuting Authority Luxolo Tyali says, When they were led by their defence, they did indicate that against all the charges, they were going to deny. And for the state, it was just to really emphasise that they were denying whatever was put against them, which was now heads of arguments that all they did was denial. So, we still believe that when the judge considers the evidence entirely, especially the overwhelming evidence by the state, she will rule in our favour.
