Jse Expands Access To Ordinary South Africans Via Shyft App Launch
The Johannesburg Stock Exchange JSE says it is now more accessible to ordinary South Africans through its launch on the Standard Bank-powered Shyft app.
It says this will give people an opportunity to invest in shares like Capitec, Sasol and Anglo Ashanti without needing an equities dealer or fund manager.
The JSE says the move aims to improve financial literacy, lower trading fees, and highlights the importance of one of the best-performing markets in the past 18 months.
JSEs Valdene Reddy explains, The world is globally connected, and you can see that the South Africans want to become, you know, putting building blocks to increase their wealth, to create better opportunities for themselves. And you see the activity, for example, in digital currencies or crypto. And so now South Africans can have access easily. Theyve had so through other apps, but maybe the ease and awareness werent as easy.
